It is no surprise that Asher Watson chose to pursue a career in law. Raised by two attorneys and judges in Greenville, he still holds fond memories of observing court proceedings and trials at a young age. Through them, he learned the deep importance of being on the side of the marginalized, misunderstood, and those entitled by our Constitution to a vigorous defense.
Asher Watson is a lifelong resident of Greenville, South Carolina. He graduated Christ Church Episcopal School in 2004 and earned his B.A. in 2008 from the College of Charleston, magna cum laude, studying History.
In 2012, he earned his Juris Doctor Degree from the Charleston School of Law, cum laude, where he was a merit scholar and graduated in the top 20% of his class. While in law school, Asher was a competitor on the school’s Moot Court Board. In 2010, he competed in the American Constitution Society’s National Moot Court competition in Boston, Massachusetts, where he placed runner-up, besting teams from Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School, New York School of Law, Brigham Young University Law School, and over 30 others.
